Committee Meeting Report - Wed 10th August
Annual Exhibition 2006
Roger Dye had agreed to be Exhibition Competition Secretary. This involves
Sending invites to Photographic Societies and Clubs (letters in September 2005 and January 2006) along with competition entry forms.
And Collating all entries for the Interclub Digital Print and Slide Competitions (deadline for entries is the Friday before the Exhibition) including updating Peter Redford by e-mail as the entries are received.
Gordon provided Roger with hard copies of the 2005 exhibition paperwork and promised to confirm by e-mail or by CD. Gordon will also provide updated contacts and addresses for clubs to be invited.
Alan Adshead Trophy
Alan Bromage has designed and produced a plinth for the Alan Adshead Digital Print Trophy which can incorporate a certificate of all the competition winners. This will be updated after each competition and a copy supplied to the winners. The Committee approved the design and expressed its gratitude to Alan for making and donating the plinth to the Society.
Exhibition Friday Night Presentation / Lecture
Tony Pioli is preparing a new presentation / lecture on Derbyshire and the Peak District. Tony has agreed to present it for the first time at the NCPS Exhibition on Friday 10th February 2006. Tony is a recognised authority on Derbyshire and the Peak District amongst the photographic community and this event should also be of great interest to the general public.
Nick Sanders, a former Marple resident, has just completed a record breaking circumnavigation of the earth by land in just 19 days, a staggering 1000 miles per day on his Yamaha R1 motorbike. This was reported in the Stockport Times East on 28th July 2005. The Committee agreed this could attract a wide audience for the 2007 Exhibition and suggested this should be followed up.
NCPS City Break 2006
Colin Pickles suggested Budapest for next years midweek City Break early May. Tallin, Estonia, was also suggested and Colin will follow this up.
